Director's Welcome

Greetings!

I am delighted to welcome you to the School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Delaware, the School known for integrating academic excellence with professional practice!

Our website provides information on academic programs providing a stimulating intellectual environment while preparing students for a variety of positions in the public, private and nonprofit sectors.  Our close relationship with affiliated centers allows us to provide unique opportunities for professional development recognized by leading authorities in the field. For example, this year, the School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy earned top honors in Planetizen's 2009 Guide to Graduate Urban Planning Programs. Last year, the School received the academic excellence award for outstanding education and training in the field of Human Services.

Built on the intellectual foundations of urban affairs and public administration, the School’s graduate programs offers an MA, MPA, and a PhD, rooted in applied research and public service. Hallmarks of the School’s strong commitment to practical experience include paid research assistantships, teaching assistantships, and internship placements.

The School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy offers two undergraduate degrees, a B.S. in Organizational & Community Leadership and a B.A. in Public Policy. 

Recognizing the need for international experiences, the School facilitates faculty and student exchanges and organized study abroad trips to exciting destinations throughout the world for undergraduate and graduate students.
